Gary Schofield is a woodworker currently living in Eaton, NH. He moved to the Mount Washington Valley area in 1976 from Massachusetts. For the past 30 years he has been involved in woodworking projects, everything from built-in bookshelves and custom closets to craftsmen style custom woodwork & fireplaces. After retiring from his full-time job as a water system operator in 2019, he turned his skills to other woodworking projects including mission style furniture and then to smaller projects such as cutting boards and cribbage boards. He uses an assortment of hardwoods to make his end grain cutting boards. His boards make great gifts suitable for weddings and house warmings.
Artist’s Statement:
My cutting boards are made of an assortment of hardwoods locally sourced when available. They have a simple food safe mineral oil finish. They are built to last and will service you well if properly cared for. Do not put in the dishwasher or in a sink full of water as this will cause it to split. Simply wipe off with a warm damp cloth after using. If the board becomes dull simply wipe it down with a little mineral oil, allow to soak and then wipe it dry.
