Tracy Weitz

Painting

Artist Bio:

Tracy has spent most of her life creating art. Growing up in southern New Hampshire, she had the opportunity to study with Helene Pierce when she was in high school. This instruction propelled her to a lifetime of painting and honing her skills in various workshops and classes. Throughout the years, she painted mostly still life and portrait, but now also paints landscapes, mostly in plein air. She continues to develop her artistic voice through the freedom of working in landscape, drawing inspiration from the beauty of the light and rich colors in New England.  After a long career in education, she now relishes having the time to focus on her painting.

Recent commissions include a portrait of the first female Head of School at Fryeburg Academy, that hangs permanently at the school, and a landscape/seascape for a private residence on the coast of Maine. She has participated in art shows (both group and solo) throughout New England. Tracy’s paintings have been sold in the United States, as well as internationally.
